For me, it was Mandy by Julie Andrews and Number the Stars. My son and I read Number the Stars as a read aloud, and it was as special as I’d hoped it would be! It’s the first read aloud he remembers. My daughter read Mandy on her own, but I plan on reading it aloud to both of them.
